The Story Behind the Name

98&Great: The Space Between You and Your Potential

Time moves in one direction, memory in another.”

William Gibson

You know that one vague memory, or maybe a few, that’s always followed you since childhood?
The kind that gets blurrier as you get older, like the soft focus of an old photograph.

Maybe it's that grainy Chuck E. Cheese printout with the red, green, or purple border.
Or riding your bike with training wheels until the nubs were basically sparks.
Or the smell of syrup and sausage links in the morning at daycare, cartoons humming in the background.
Or the first time you picked up an instrument; confident, clueless, and loud.

These moments aren’t just memories. They’re fingerprints.
Proof that you felt something once. That something in you was taking shape, even if you didn’t know it yet.

That’s what 98&Great is built on.
A bridge between who you were, and who you’re becoming.

“98” is where I started, my birth year.
“&Great” is where I’m headed, and where I hope you’re headed too.
Together, they make space for growth, reflection, and reinvention. Room to level up while still honoring where you came from.

Why I started this thing in the first place?
Funny enough, I wasn’t “the creative one” growing up. That crown went to my sister, the human paintbrush.
I had to carve my own lane and that lane led to film, photography, and storytelling.

Now, I help others do the same. Whether you’re just starting out or trying to bring a long-held idea to life, I’m here to help turn thoughts into things.

98&Great offers (and will grow to offer):

  • 🎬 Workshops to help you produce and organize your ideas

  • 🧠 Creative consulting to sharpen your vision

  • 📄 Templates and budget tools to help you create without the chaos

  • 🎥 Outsourcing support so your projects can scale

  • 🚀 Plans to grow into a full-scale production studio—scripted film/TV, commercial work, camera rentals, and more

Whether you’re chasing your inner creative or trying to remember where you left it…
You’re welcome here.

98&Great is more than a brand. It’s a time machine, a blueprint, and a creative launchpad all at once.

Let’s make some magic.

More Unique Nostalgic Experiences I’ve Had

  • Realizing I was lactose intolerant because I always preferred cookies with water, not milk.

  • Burning my hand on chicken nugget grease during a rush hour shift at Wendy’s—my first high school job.

  • Performing stand-up comedy for the first time…during my first week of college.

  • Age 7. PJ’s Spiderman. Walls climbed. Family entertained.

Me at maybe…5 years old. Miss this kid.

PROD WORKSHOP UPDATES

Anything worth it takes time…so just know we are working on this too! In an effort to not let you down, there will be no date revealed on this just yet. Excited to share more when ready. Stay tuned.

COREY’S CORNER

Shout out to mom for giving me this quality title 👌. Sharing some insight on music finds, show stoppers, movie box office toppers, and other things I find insightful. Enjoy these recco’s!

  • Favorite Tune To Tune Into: This one song, That Girl - Paul Russell ft. Saweetie, has new jack swing written all over it! If you like the Finesse remix from Bruno Mars and Cardi B., this is right up your alley. The music video was fun and interesting enough for a 2025 music video.

    Now, who is Paul Russell?
You might know him from Lil Boo Thang, which flips Best of My Love by The Emotions into a feel good, windows down anthem. He’s got a knack for turning old school vibes into something fresh—and this latest track’s no exception.

  • Stream-Worthy Selection: The latest sensation is “Forever” a Netflix series inspired by Judy Blume's 1975 novel, follows two Black teens, Keisha and Justin, as they navigate their first love, exploring romance and identity. Set in 2018 Los Angeles, the series examines the complexities of first love, including the joy, the heartache, and the impact on their individual futures. The show delves into the challenges of raising exceptional Black children in a complex world while also showcasing the nuanced experience of young love.

And let me tell you—this show is a rollercoaster.
I’m about 70% through, and I already found myself picking sides (don’t judge me). But that’s part of what makes it so good…it pulls you in, gets you invested, and makes you feel something real.

    Honorable Mention: Poppa’s House
Season two might’ve been cancelled (BOO), but I still highly recommend checking out Poppa’s House. If you were a fan of My Wife and Kids, this one's right in that same lane; classic family sitcom vibes with that signature Wayans flavor.

Damon Wayans Sr. and Damon Wayans Jr. star as father and son, blending real-life stories with sitcom level laughs. The show features guest appearances from other Wayans family members, and yes they’re behind the scenes too, writing and directing episodes. It’s a true family affair.

I genuinely loved watching this show, and I’m very hurt it didn’t get renewed. You can feel the heart in every episode. Check out Damon Wayans Sr.’s heartfelt goodbye message here.

  • Something Stimulating, Shocking, or Silly: If you haven’t heard of Sinners, the biggest movie of 2025—where have you been?! Ryan Coogler is on fire, and this film proves it. With a $90M budget and over $300M in global earnings, the momentum is unreal. Missed it the first time? Sinners is back in IMAX—so yes, you still have time to catch the hype.
