Mondays Don’t Have to Suck—Here’s Why
Use this little hack to make any day worth it!

“Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.”
I know—it’s Friday, and the last thing you want to think about is Monday. But trust me, this week’s newsletter might just save you from the dreaded Monday mood.
The other day, I was talking to my sister. She’s 2.5 years behind me in age and usually a few life lessons behind too (no offense, sis). I try to prep her for what’s coming, but sometimes, she has to learn the hard way. Our recent convo went something like this...
Sister: “Do your desires or purpose change on a regular basis? Like how do you know what it is that you’re working towards?“
Me: “All the time. Especially now that I’m older. I mean personally for me as a kid I felt like I somewhat always knew but it would shift slightly during big life stages [5-10 years]. Now that I’m older that thing changes sometimes month to month [5-10 weeks].”
Sister: “I have no idea what I’m doing or any sense of direction or purpose or anything. its very weird.. and empty and like.. idk. disheartening I guess lol like I just keep looking for a drive or a goal I’d like to accomplish and I have none. like I wish I could just exist. I don’t even care about the money aspect lol like I just want to exist.
Me: “That’s one perspective. Another is, what fun would it be to have all the rules written and you have no choice but to follow them to a T? This way if you mess up, it’s all on you and you’d feel more pressure. There’s all sorts of answers. None greater than the other. No one really knows. We’re all just guessing until it feels right. I wouldn’t get too caught up in the if this is right or not. Just take time to find the things you like / dislike. Find out why or maybe don’t. But get new experiences in life. Have fun. Do different things. Enjoy solitude or enjoy hosting friends. Learn who you are…it’s not a quick thing. I find the most joy when people tell me about myself because that means I have patterns that people are aware of —- in essence this is me. It’s like making a character in a movie or show, by the end of watching either you know a character well enough to relate to describe them to others. That’s what you could do for yourself.“
Sister: “💗💗 thanks”
Me:

So, here are a few things that make me happy—because let’s be real, adulting gets busy, and we forget the little joys. Hopefully, my “happy list” sparks a reminder to check in on yours too! **PST, this is the Monday hack — find out what makes you happy and make it a priority on Monday, or any day, first thing in the morning
Things That Make Me Happy
Finding joy in the quiet, productive hours before the world wakes up
Turning chaos into order — because a clear space = a clear mind
Planning like it’s a competitive sport 🤓
Music — curating playlists for others, even though I only revisit 20% of my 80+ creations.
Interior design—because a space says a lot about a person
Dancing like nobody’s watching (and wouldn’t care if they were)
Helping people discover and use their gifts—because everyone’s got one!

PROD WORKSHOP UPDATES
As Q1 of 2025 wraps up, so does our Prod. 101 intro class. This class was designed to teach you how to think and plan like a producer—mapping out and achieving your goals and passion projects. Why a producer, not a director? Because when a producer does their job right, you don’t even notice. That’s the kind of seamless, efficient, proactive dedication needed to reach your goals.
SO WHAT’S NEXT?
Glad you asked! Quarter two means Prod. 102—where we’ll dive into specific skills like budgeting, scheduling, building a contact rolodex, and more. Anyone who took the 101 class got a free crew deal memo, which we’ll cover in 102, so you’re already ahead!
Plus, 101 alumni get a 50% discount on any 102 class. Use it wisely—or save it for a one-on-one consultation with me to go over your goals and projects in detail.
WHAT ELSE IS HAPPENING?
We’re in the works to build a community for the workshop alumni. This will help everyone connect and collaborate more easily, even beyond your initial classmates.
NEXT 98&GR8 PROJECT UNDERWAY
Shhh... don’t tell anyone, but we’re kicking off the next project! We’re in the early stages of developing a script and looking for a dancer/actor + choreographer. Details coming soon, but if you know someone (or want to be that someone), email us at [email protected] with the subject “Next 98&GR8 Project.” Tell us who you are and how you want to be part of our next cool story!
MONTHLY FAVES OF THE WEEK
Initially I was only going to write one newsletter a month, but soooo much happens in a month. I might increase this. Stay tuned. For now, enjoy some recco’s I have for you below!
Favorite Tune To Tune Into: Soulection Show #653 #IFYKYK — but if you don’t, let me put you on. Soulection is an LA-based music collective that curates global sounds through unique DJ blends. That link jumps to the 54:00 mark—where it really gets good. Perfect for house cleaning or cooking. Give it a listen—you might just be hooked!
Stream-Worthy Selection: Paradise — Created by Dan Fogelman, this Hulu series follows Secret Service agent Xavier Collins as he investigates the murder of former President Cal Bradford in a seemingly perfect—but deeply deceptive—underground community, three years after a doomsday event.
If you loved This Is Us, you’ll recognize Fogelman’s signature style—masterful time jumps, interconnected character arcs, and emotionally rich storytelling. His writing shines in the way he weaves multiple narratives together, making every moment feel connected.
Good news—Season 2 is officially on the way!
Something Stimulating, Shocking, or Silly: Guess we’re sticking with the Disney vibes from last newsletter here! My all-time favorite movie—seriously, I’ve rewatched it more than anything else (which says a lot since I hate rewatching anything)—A Goofy Movie is getting the documentary treatment!
To celebrate its 30th anniversary, Disney is unlocking Not Just A Goof from the vault. Catch it streaming on Disney+ Monday, April 7th!
